Privacy Policy

Your data stays on your device.

Last updated: 6 September 2026

kuma does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal data. Everything the extension stores stays on your device. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no external servers — the extension makes no network requests of its own.

What kuma stores on your device

kuma saves two things locally, using your browser's extension storage:

kuma does not store or record the content you view, your browsing history, the URLs you visit, keystrokes, form data, cookies, or any information that identifies you.

Data sharing

kuma does not send your data anywhere. Nothing is shared with the developer or any third party, because the extension has no backend and makes no outbound network requests.

On Apple platforms, the iOS and macOS version of kuma may sync your settings and counters between the extension and its companion kuma app on the same device, using Apple's on-device app-group storage. This data never leaves your device.

Permissions

kuma requests only the permissions it needs to do its job:

storage

To save your settings and usage counters locally.

activeTab

To act on the tab you are currently viewing when you interact with the extension.

Host access — x.com, twitter.com, youtube.com, instagram.com

So the content script can hide or delay the algorithmic feed on those sites. The script reads and modifies the page you are on to do this; it does not copy, store, or transmit page content, and it runs on no other sites.

Data retention and deletion

Because all data is stored locally, you are in full control of it. You can clear it at any time by removing the extension, or by clearing the extension's storage through your browser. Uninstalling kuma removes all data it stored.

Children's privacy

kuma is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any data from anyone.
